WHY Workshop: The Future is Flexible!
At the expert workshop, co-organised by WHY, experts discussed and explored smart solutions and collaborations among crosscutting sectors, including municipalities, grid system planners, researchers, and commercial actors, to amplify demand flexibility that benefits consumers and the greater energy system.
Yesterday, the WHY project partnered with the PAC project in organising “The Future is Flexibility”, an expert workshop on building sector flexibility and its role in system planning. WHY colleagues Leire Astigarraga and Cruz Borges presented how WHY is identifying household electricity consumption patterns and their role in flexibility. Experts discussed technical solutions for residential and commercial building flexibility and multilevel energy system optimisation as well as social and regulatory bottlenecks and opportunities for municipalities to alleviate barriers.
